RRB NTPC Syllabus 2026: CBT 1 & CBT 2 Topic-Wise Pattern

How to cover this syllabus

  1. 1CBT 1 is only a screening round — normalised marks decide the shortlist, so accuracy beats attempt count.
  2. 2General Awareness is the largest section; build a daily 20-minute current affairs habit from the start.
  3. 3Learn Railways-specific GK separately — zones, headquarters, budget points and recent projects repeat every cycle.
  4. 4Solve previous year RRB papers zone-wise; question patterns repeat heavily across cycles.
  5. 5For Station Master and Traffic Assistant, practise the computer-based aptitude test format early; it has no re-attempt.

Frequently asked questions

Is CBT 1 score counted in the final RRB NTPC merit?

No. CBT 1 is only a screening stage. Final merit is prepared from CBT 2 plus the qualifying typing or aptitude test.

How much negative marking is there in RRB NTPC?

One-third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer in both CBT stages, so skip questions you cannot narrow down.

Can I appear for RRB NTPC in Hindi?

Yes. The exam is offered in Hindi, English and 13 other regional languages; you choose the language while applying.
