How to cover this syllabus

  1. 1Weeks 1–4: finish Maths and Reasoning basics chapter by chapter, then attempt 10 questions daily from each chapter you close.
  2. 2Weeks 5–8: shift to speed — a 15-minute timed set of 25 Reasoning questions every morning and one Data Interpretation set every evening.
  3. 3Weeks 9–12: full-length mock tests twice a week, and rewrite every wrong question into a mistake notebook.
  4. 4Daily 20 minutes on current affairs plus 20 vocabulary words is enough for General Awareness and English.
  5. 5Do not chase new books in the last month. Revise your own notes and previous year papers instead.

Frequently asked questions

Is the SSC CGL syllabus the same for Tier 1 and Tier 2?

The four subjects repeat in Tier 2, but the depth and difficulty rise sharply and Tier 2 adds Computer Knowledge and a Data Entry Speed module.

How much negative marking is there in SSC CGL?

Tier 1 deducts 0.50 mark for a wrong answer. Tier 2 objective papers deduct 1 full mark, so blind guessing is costly.

How many hours a day are enough for SSC CGL?

Five to six focused hours with timed practice beats ten distracted hours. Consistency across months matters more than one long study day.
